Ogmore Beach is one of the most beautiful and popular beaches in South Wales. It’s known for its stunning views, clear waters, and diverse wildlife. With its popularity comes the challenge of finding a parking spot. Location of Ogmore Beach

Ogmore Beach is located on the southern coast of Wales, in the Vale of Glamorgan. It’s situated between the towns of Porthcawl and Bridgend and is easily accessible from the M4 motorway. The beach is part of the Glamorgan Heritage Coastline and is a designated Site of Special Scientific Interest due to its unique geology and flora and fauna.


To get to Ogmore Beach by car, take the M4 motorway and exit at Junction 35. Follow signs for Bridgend and then the A48 towards Cowbridge. After a few miles, turn right onto the B4524 towards Ogmore-by-Sea. Follow the road until you reach the beach car park.

Parking at Ogmore Beach

There are three main car parks at Ogmore Beach:

  1. Ogmore Beach East Car Park: This is the largest car park and is located on the east side of the river. It’s the closest car park to the beach and is suitable for families and those with mobility issues. There are designated disabled parking bays available.
  2. Ogmore Beach West Car Park: This car park is located on the west side of the river and is suitable for those who want to explore the dunes and the Ogmore River.
  3. Southerndown Car Park: This car park is located approximately 1.5 miles away from Ogmore Beach and is suitable for those who want to explore the nearby cliffs and coastline.

Prices for Parking

The prices for parking at Ogmore Beach vary depending on the time of year:

  • April to September: £5 for all-day parking
  • October to March: £2.50 for all-day parking

There is also a pay-and-display option available for those who only want to park for a few hours.

Parking Rules and Regulations

It’s important to be aware of the parking rules and regulations at Ogmore Beach to avoid getting fined:

  • No overnight parking is allowed
  • No camping or barbecues are allowed in the car parks
  • Vehicles must not be parked on the grass or in undesignated areas
  • Maximum stay of 24 hours
  • Payment must be made on arrival
